Location: Lake Geneva, WI | I tried out my new Okuma last week at Spring bay outing and the first two days the reel was awesome. Then it started making some wierd noises on the cast and when I reel it sounds like squirls chirping. The reel still seems to work just fine. I was wondering if anyone would know what could make this happen. Should it be oiled. It was brand new out of the box. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Location: Hayward, WI | That's what I would say too. Lots of new reels get that after a day or so of use. They must sit in storage long enough for the oil to drip/leak from the bearings somewhat. I've had some where it seemed like you needed to add a drop of oil a couple times a day for two or three outings before it seemed to stop for good.
