i am currently using luna 300L's on custom croix mega swimbait blanks. it's been a great combination for me for most applications but i am considering a croix tm86xhf for double 10's and heavy baits. any thoughts on using another luna on that rod or are there better "left handed" reels out there for that application for ease of cranking, etc. will i really notice that much of a difference between any other reel for that application vs. the lunas? whoolligan was kind enough to suggest the abu record rcn61hc-l...any suggestions / comments on that model or any another would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
stan

Unfortunatly Im in the same boat. Also reel left handed. I've been using a Abu Garcia 7001i its a red one. I actually havent had to many complaints other than it weighs in at a whopping 21 ounces. It hasn't "blown up" like most of my abu's have in the past.

There is a online store called catfish connection that has them for $85.25 compared to most places sell it for $129.95 hopefully this helps. I've emailed Penn about making a 975 lefty but doesn't look like that will happen.

I've got a Record 60. I haven't used it much, but I wouldn't recommend it for fishing big bucktails. My abu 7000ic3 is vastly superior for that application.

I also use a left handed abu 7001i and use it for big bucktails,i can use the right hand reels for just reeling in but cant use jerk style baits.

I'm using Calcutta 401TEs, and couldn't be happier with them.

I hear quite a bit about the Luna. Is it worth a try ?

I have a lefty induron 400 by okuma with a power handle it holds up nicely. My buddy gave me his luna to try and there is a big difference between no power handle and power handle. My wrist hurt after pulling in cowgirls without a power handle. What ever you look at get a big handle for the heavy baits

my 2 cents
