Location: Cedarburg, Wisconsin | I looked it up in my big book, Fishes of Wis. by Becker, my fish bible. It says muskies will be spawning anywhere from 49 to 60 degrees with the 55 degree mark being the preferred temp. It goes on to say that temperature is not the only factor in when the fish will spawn. Increased oxygen in the water, length of daylight, and temperature all could be combining factors to influence spawning activity. It sights evidence of increased spring prespawn musky movement before temperatures began to warm up as proof there is more than just temperature involved in the onset of spawning. So there you have it. Everything in the book says you can't know when they spawned, only that they are done. Bet that helps a lot.
