| I bought a new Weagle and it works great for the most part but sometimes the nose dips down under the water and then goes underneath as I continue to work the bait. Am I just working the bait wrong or could it be my leader? I was using a single strand wire leader. Any thoughts?
Thanks,

Location: Hayward, WI | I use a single strand leader on mine and it works well. Sometimes if I start working it too fast the nose will dip down a little bit. The most common cause seems to be when you don't keep enough slack in the line and pull the bait more than snap the slack out. Usually just giving a little pause lets the bait float back up pretty quickly. |

You might also want to slow down a bit, you may be just trying to work it too fast. In my opinion, a little bit slower is better combined with bigger and better pops of the bait make better sploosh sploosh than trying to work it at a faster pace in my imho. |

Location: Bemidji, MN | It happens to me too, it would do that if I dont give enough slack but sometimes I like to make it dive a little bit. I use a wire leader with no swivel on where you tie the line to, so the bait does not roll over. It also works great with topwaters like Pacemaker, Lowriders, Topwalkers and etc. |
