Bet you can get a good idea if it will fit or not. PIKE MASTER may also know. You can also call Shimano parts and they will know. James [email protected]

Posts: 130 Location: Chicago | Hey Fred, I put Shimano power handle with the rubber knob on mine, when first started casting with it, the extra weight of the handle was tripping the clutch. After a bunch of time searching the web (tackletour.com) I remedied by replacing the clutch pawl spring and retractor spring as suggested by Shimano tech now it works well. The wooden (knob) power handle is a little lighter that may be an option if you don't want the hassle of opening the reel up. Good Luck!

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | Take the clutch pawl and the retractor springs that Shimano sent you to a reel repair center and try to get a stronger set ??? The 400B and the 400TE use the same BNT1223 retractor sring but the clutch springs are different Also watch that you don't trip the handle when you are casting. I cast overhand and face the handle side a little upright when casting. I have 4 400TE reels and they handle a P/H fine. Edited by PIKEMASTER 5/20/2008 10:21 AM
