92 1/2 lb carp was shot by an Ill. bowfisher. The state record is a tiny 42lbs compared to that thing They were said to only get up to 60 some pounds.
WE GOT HOPE THAT THERE IS A 70lb MUSKIE SWIMMING AROUND OUT THERE SOME WERE!! |

And they use the carp to bait for raccoon? What do they do with the raccoons? That's just one big cycle of game I have no interest in. I mean, hats off to the guy; the fish is a monster. But better him than me, I think... |

Location: davis,IL | Quite a fish! Not trying to get off the subject but why doesn't Spray's picture look quite like this one? The fish are very similar in size (62x31) for the carp, and (63x31) for Spray's Muskie! The biggest difference is the guy with the carp is 4"-5" inches taller.

Location: oswego, il | Racoon fur, when I was a teenager was well worth the effort. We used to trap and hunt them heavy in the winter. My brother and I used to run a trap line every morning before school. It was crazy back then. I remember getting 55 bucks for my first racoon and I did not even skin it. You would goto the fur trader and see guys in suits bringing road kill. The price has dropped out of them now and you don't see people pursueing them like that anymore, but I enjoyed walking through the woods in the middle of the night shining trees and wading the river at 4am in the pitch dark waste deep with a flashlight and a pistol! |

Location: Land of the Musky | ToddM--Loved thsoe days! In Jr. High I made about $300-$400 a day trapping. $6 for musk rats and $40 for coon was not too bad for a kid back then. Can't even make that selling lures today! LOL |

Location: Elgin, IL | Heck yeah Todd. Those sound like some great memories. By the way... whatever did happen to those two redbone hounds of yours? Old Dan and Little Ann were their names... if I recall correctly. You should post up a pic of you and your hounds. Lantern in one hand, hand axe in the other. Good times.... good times. 
Just bring the photos to the meeting on Wednesday. I'll put them up under the "Old Tymers" section in the newsletter.

| Ole Dan and Little Ann ran into a cougar while out hunting one night, and Dan got injured so bad protecting Todd, they couldn't save him. Little Ann couldn't live without her life partner, and she soon died of a broken heart. Todd buried them on a hillside, and that next spring, there was a rare Red Fern growing on the graves of those two hounds. I cried when Todd told me that whole story. |

Location: oswego, il | LMAO, guys that's funny stuff. Actually, we never used dogs to hunt, ever. We shined trees on our own, kicked up birds on our own and retrieved them on our own. Dug our own goose pits too. |
