| Has anyone tried the Evertroll nickle-zinc batteries? I need new batteries and dont know if I'm ready to shell out $560 for a pair of batteries. They sound like they would be worth it in the long run but they would have to last 8 or nine years to cover three sets of conventional deep cycles. Also, has anyone used the AGM batteries(Minn Kota) with any success.
Thanks in advance,

| I haven't used either of the brands that you have asked about, but while you are looking check out Optima Batteries
(www.OptimaBatteries.com). They have more than doubled the performance of conventional deep cycle batteries, both between charges and in total life! They are maintenance free, can be froze and thawed and recharged without harm to the battery, and they are compact when compared to the monster deep cycle
batteries that I used to use. Check them out![] |

| I'm poor so I usually rely on the WalMart special $54 deep cycle batteries. They usually last me at least three years. Running the trolling motor dawn to dusk I've never had them run out in a single day. I guess my question would be. What do I get for my extra dollars? Do the expensive batteries last for two or three days of constant use? I've looked at them from time to time in the cataloges and was intrigued by them but I've never known anyone that uses them. Can someone tell me the difference between high and low pricced batteries with reference to a normal day on the water?
