Here's what I added over the winter. What did you add to your muskie arsenal? Let's see your photo's!
From right to left-
Pounder Bulldawg, PET spoon, Bunker spoon, Howie (self made - couldn't find one at the shows), Mr Wiggly, TS Takin' Popper, Ducktail double bladed spinner's (red/yellow is keel weighted), Zam 22CM, Slammer Deep Diver, Zam Z, Spanky magnum double blade spinner, ZaltNAD "PI Deep-Six" .

Still to come - 2lb Bulldawg. Thanks to Spencer Berman for the lessons in big bulldawg fishin' at the 2007 PI Outing. However, I don't think I'll throw it all day, like Spencer.

Have fun!
Al

Homemade double tens, curly sues, larger weagle with grub tail and a new krusher. Maybe I will catch as many fish as new lures I have purchased this season. BG

I made a bunch of trades this winter and got about 45 baits that way. Here are some of the ones I have pics of.

All I can say is do you think I produce on gliders! Next year I'm going to have a musky estate sale. I also made a handful of dbl 10 style tails posted on new bucktail project under basement baits.

Needa70... none of those baits you got will work on the chip... may as well just give them all to me.

Todd- Those are both saltwater lures I found in bait shop's out in Rhode Island. The spoon is a Cheasapeake Bay Bunker Spoon. The total length of the spoon including the 10/0 trailer hook is ~10.5".

The rubber bait is a high speed saltwater trolling lure from South Africa. It's 10" long. I first tried this lure at the 2007 MF PI Outing. At the end of the 2007 PI outing I fished with Howie Meyer on Sunday, he kept my original-it had some serious teeth marks. The teeth marks came from a fish Spencer Berman raised on a 2lb Bulldawg on Saturday, i.e., 3-4 cast's later my rod loaded up, but no hooks into the fish. At Howie's suggestion, I've since modified it for better hooking on muskies, i.e., I've re-rigged it with a custom designed double 12/0 hook. Therefore, I think I'll call it the "PI Deep-Six" after Howie's penchant for chasing deepwater big fish in late fall, i.e., it's designed to be deep-six'd, or run over rocks, bottom etc. and still be relatively snag free. It can be fished anywhere from 3' to +60'. As rigged from the manufacturer it's very heavy, i.e., it sinks at ~5'-8' ft/sec. I'm now working on different weights.

Here's a couple more photo's. Note, the pinched down barbs! It's also hard to see in the photo's but the hook points are at ~15 degree up from horizontal, i.e., it should be pretty snag resistant.

Before anyone else asks: No- there are none available. Of course Howie's going to get one, and so is Spencer. I don't think anyone would want to pay the price, based on our current MLO (costs).. I've tried contacting the manufacturer- no response, i.e., they don't seem to be interested in the muskie market- I'm buying at bait shop price. I might consider it for 2009, i.e., if it works like I think it will this season, and if I could get costs down.

Have fun!
Al

Andy, if you could, please ask Pat if he still has my order from awhile back. I still really want those bear paws and mama bears that I requested. Really looking forward to tossing them in '08. Also would like to get a few custom weighted as I ruin the paint on all of them anyhow when I drill and weight them myself. Your dad has my email addy.
