Anyone have any luck on Monona/Wabesa/Kegonsa Sat.?? I trolled the shorelines of Wabesa and Monona.....skunked!!!
Found some interesting spots to cast though as soon as I get my $#@%^% trolling motor fixed. Hope to hear some reports...
Hey Steve, I think I saw you on Wabesa in the morning...[:sun:]

Dan, what I have found with waubesa is you can troll it but there are so many spots that you cannot troll effectively. Both have their place and both must be explored.

Hey Todd,
yes I found numerous spots that I want to concentrate on. If you saw my thread from Fri., I was and still am without a trolling motor (lost steering and now power comes and goes)That is why I spent my time trolling....still would like to know if anyone did any good.[:sun:]

Dan,talked to a couple of guys at the launch. One group had a few follows, the other caught 1 undersize fish.I think that most of the fish are real shallow right now.

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I kind of figured they would or should be shallow with the cooler temps. Anyone else????[:sun:]

Three feet of water, twitching cranks like the 5" Slammer. I had two reports of fish caught this way.

Hope this helps!!

We picked one up a really "pretty" Tiger on Monona and had several follows. Most in less than 3' of water. One follow came in from over 12' of water.

Saw one boat catch one that they must have had it out of the water for over 10 minutes. The pictures alone took over 3 minutes.

Also saw one "family" get one on a bass rig. Never saw the fish enter the water after it was boated.

Catch and haul/kill tourney in Madison next week. We'll be off to X and maybe M.

Just curious here, have many of you PMTT regulars fished Madison in the past? Or will May 18th be a first ever trip to Madison?

We pre-fished Madison for the first time this past weekend.

Our second trip to the Mad Chain will be the PMTT tourney.

I prefished it for the first time yesterday. Drove around for 5 hours just looking at water. Fished for about 2 more, saw nothing.

You PMTT anglers that just fished the "MAD CHAIN" for the first time.....what do you think? Would you like to fish this chain as your main lake?

Thanks

Well you PMTT'ers, this is a tough spring here in Madison.....cool weather and NO SUN has REALLY kept the weed growth down. I personally think a tourney two weeks later or in to June would be a heck of a lot better. But with that being said there should be fish caught! Banged a 39.5 last night and we lost 2 more decent fish....Oh, but wingra isn't in the tourney! HEEEEE!

Good luck guys!

Yes, Christy's is still the best on the water "pitstop" to make!

Brett,

The Mad chain reminded me alot of some of the lakes in the Minneapolis metro area. We saw some fish and it was nice to be able to fish a lake with "Normal" structure instead of picnic tables (KY) or broken up sidewalks (Clear Lake IA) Water clarity suprised me....ecspecially when it is connected by a river system. Incredible how many pan fish I saw being pulled out....Must be alot of them to handle that kind of keep/kill rate. I wouldn't mind calling it "Home" at all.
