Location: Contrarian Island | they still do...i just take a knife to the butt of the rod and shave off some cork to get the balancer to fit...8 bucks a pop at Bass Pro.

Location: Sun Prairie, WI | Ryan, here's another option for lead...go to a golf shop and buy some lead tape to wrap at the end of the handle. That's what I have on the end of my 8-6 Pro Edge DB. |

| Short rods not good for anything? I totally disagree. That's like saying a golfer only needs a 7 iron.
I use shorter rods for particular purposes and and they help me catch more fish. I had one custom made just for gliders and suicks because I get my best action by pulling the rod tip straight down toward the water, but I don't want the rod tip to hit the water. See, I fish from a small boat and I'm already close to the water; in fact my feet are at the water level when I stand in the boat. I almost never, ever lose any fish I hook, either. I use longer rods, too, of course, when they are the proper tool for the job. |
