Posts: 921 Location: Apollo, PA | Just wanted to get some feedback from any of you guys that have fished in a Yarcraft. Want any pros and cons. We just dont see these boats in PA. I hear they are real good in rough water. I realize that Rangers and Tuffys are very good and wanted to get any feedback at all on Yarcrafts. I'm strictly talking about fiberglass rigs. Also wondered about their resale value? Do they hold it well? thanks, ps

Posts: 32957 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I've seen many in use at Professional Walleye Trail and FLW Walleye Tour events, and know some of the Pros running Yar Crafts pretty well. Great boats, tough and well built. They seem to ride very well in the big stuff. Built just down the road an hour from here. There's a couple for sale in the classifieds, and yes, they seem to hold their resale well. Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Ditto to what Sworrall said. I've spent a considerable amount of time in Yarcrafts the last few years. Also have some very close friends running one and have for many years. I think if you were to ask this question over on WalleyeFirst you might get some better feedback, considering there target market is the walleye guys. They recently began expanding their marketing to the musky world. Yes, Yar Craft boats handle big water very well. The company originated on the Menominee River and the Lake Michigan water out of Marinette, Wisconsin. They were originally designed with The Great Lakes angler in mind. Many of there models are designed for a guy who likes to troll. As for resale, I think living where you live would definitely effect your resale value compared to a guy where these boats are available and sold, but with the Internet and boat classifieds, resale should be fine.

Posts: 2378 | I see plenty of walleye guys in YarCrafts out on Mille Lacs. When the water is rolling, and even the guys in the 620s are taking it easy the YarCraft boys are still haulin' @ss. Based on that, I think they must ride very well in the rough stuff.

Posts: 457 | YarCraft boats are probably the best boats build for rough waters. I'm not gonna sugar coat it, they don't ride like a Caddy, but they sure can HANDLE the stuff. Good friend runs one, and on Oahe, there's almost nothing that can blow him off the water, meanwhile, I'd have been long in the slip.

Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Pikiespawn - 3/26/2008 8:32 PM IN your opinion, what is the best riding fiberglass boat and why?? Oh man, what a loaded question that is! Asking this question on any fishing website your bound to get about every possible kind of boat. The best riding boat to a guy who owns one is the one they are running. I've personally have been in just about every major fiberglass brand that I know of. I personally think it's too hard to say there is a definite better boat than another. There all top of the line, and they all have there unique features. The best way to decide on what brand to buy, is to get a test ride in every possible boat you can. That's the best thing I could tell you if your looking for a new boat. This will be my second year running a Tuffy, I couldn't be happier. But that is my opinion.

Posts: 921 Location: Apollo, PA | Figured that Ranger and Tuffy would be right up there. Wonder if the older Tuffys hulls are the same as the new ones? There are some good deals out there on 01's , 02's and 03's on this board. Never have road in one, due to where i live, but had a nice Ranger, up until 2 weeks ago. I know Paul Hartman swears by Tuffys. Will look at them closely when back to work. Thanks, PS
