| You'll love the 2002 model 620vs. I have been running one since August of last year. With all of my boats, I like to get all my gear below the decks to make the most of the floorspace. The best system I have found is running Plano 3730 boxes for most baits, 3700 for bucktails and smaller baits and 3731s for really big baits.
On my 620, both the starboard and port large storage compartments in the bow of the boat are filled with these boxes laying on their side. Each box is labeled with a marker so I know what is in it. I have no idea how many baits I have in my boat, but I know it is far more than I need. This leaves both rear compartments for raingear, rodholders, boards, etc. All of my fishing partners gear fits nicely under the rear deck extension.
When I go fishing in other people's boats, I have a Shimano blue softsided tackle bag that holds 5 of the 3730/3731 or 10 of the 3700s. It also holds 2 3600 with hooks, weights, etc., and has more pockets to get maps, leaders and hookout tools in.
If you go with this type of system, I have one word of warning. Don't leave these boxes on your front deck when you're flying across the lake. Even in glass calm conditions I've had one fly over my head and smash open when it impacted on the water. Lost one of my most cherished and valuable baits this way [:blackeye:]
Hope this helps,
Brett Erickson
