Anyone rig there own supports from pvc pipe or did you just bite the bullet and spend$$$ on fiberglass bows??? I have an open aluminum and dont want to drill into the gunnell if I can get away from it. Dont want anything protruding that one might hit their hand on. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Perhaps you may have rod holder bases mounted on/near the perimeter of your boat that can serve double duty with the holders as well as the glass bows.

How bout this. 3/4" pvc pipe with t's on each end. Cut away a section of those t's so it looks like a 'c' from the end. The 'c' would rest on the gunnel. I hope to find a larger dia pipe that would have adapters to step it down to the 3/4" size. Did i do good?
