Location: Eau Claire, WI | I'd like to put a rubber no slip step patch on the nose of my boat.
bought a sheet of material but there aren't any installation instructions. I figure since I am installing this over a waxed gel coat, there should be some surface prep similar to installing a keel guard. to me that means I will have to sand the area and clean with alcohol or something similar.
Can anyone tell me the best technique?
Thanks,
Jono |

Location: north central wisconsin | Jono, I cleaned the front with decal-off(probably similar qualities to goof-off) just to get everything off the gell coat that I could, before sticking on the diamond plate rubber. It worked well. |

Location: Tomahawk, WI | Jono, I used rubbing alcohol to clean before applying the matting. Apply matting on flat surfaces only (works great). I learned the hard way, do not go over curved areas, the adhesive on the rubber matting is not very good and will peel up. Also, if i was to do it over again, i would remove the trolling motor first and than cover the whole front end like the newer models. |
