| Hi, I saw them mentioned in the chat. I was curious what models they were. I cannot locate them on the website. Are they done in standard models like 7'6" and 8' footers? I would love to get a couple that would fit in my truck and standard blanks will not..thanks for any insight...Ben |

Location: Ogden, Ut | I have the EVX in 8'6" heavy. I love that rod. It collapses to around 7' and will cast and work a wide variety of baits.

Location: Warroad, Mn | I have several and they are very nice rods. The EVX X-heavy is my DCG rod or for working big stuff (Jakes, Believers, big spinnerbaits, etc.). The heavy is my topwater rod and small busktail rod. Both seem to be great rods. If you have a short rod locker or a small pick-up the telescoping rod is a great way to get into a 8'-6" rod. Try California Muskie on this site for help.

Location: Warroad, Mn | I'm throwing what was called a 007 with it right now. It's a 5" balsa bait (pretty light) made by one of Crash Mullins buddies and it works great for that. I would guess that you could throw 6" Jakes pretty well. If you want I'll try a 6" jake on Friday and let you know how it works. I'm using an Okuma 400 on this rod. You can throw a Rumbler or a Top Raider almost out of sight with this outfit. The handle is pretty long which I like, but some don't. Guides are fine, overall weight is good. Fit and finish is great for a $100.00 rod.

Location: Ogden, Ut | I've thrown a 6" Slammer twitch bait w/ it quite a bit; when it's calm, I'm fine, but into a wind it can be a bit of a problem sometimes. It handles Baby Depth Raiders, Cisco Kid Wranglers and Baby Wabulls (admittedly a bit heavier) quite well.

Location: Ogden, Ut | I've thrown baits up to the size of a regular Wabull w/ it routinely. I don't really use a lot of the big stuff, so I was more inclined to test it's performance on the smaller baits. It's rated for lures up to 8 oz. though.

Thanks for the inquiry on the rods. With our sales practices... it is tough to tell who has the rods. The shops that I KNOW that carry them are Rollie & Hellens, Smokey's Muskie Shop and a few Gander Mountain Stores.
Another option is to go to the Okuma website. You can order a rod through our site but it will ship from the nearest dealer in your area (unless none have them in stock). If that is the case... we will ship it from our warehouse to fullfil the order. I'm pretty sure that Tadpoles up in Eagle River also has them along with Guides Choice but I am not sure if they have received their order from their distributor yet. |

Location: Ontario, California | Things will get better. These rod technically were not supposed to be released until January of this year. I managed to get 100 pieces of each in the warehouse around the end of October. As we fill the pipeline it will get easier. Most stores are not even aware we have them yet. | Has anybody used these rods to throw the heavy stuff like pounders and big curly sues? How does the telescoping part of the rod work? Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. |

| I've thrown big Curly Sues, no pounders.
It worked fine. It's not exactly a "pool cue"
It does load up on the back swing, which I like.
As far as telescoping, the main rod collapses down into the handle,
from 8' 6" to about 6' 11". To extend it back, you simply pull it out.
It is held in place by friction or resistance.
On one hand it is not hard to collapse or extend, but once extended, it stays
and I have experienced no "malfunctions".
I plan on continuing to use it as my workhorse rod.
As with most products, it is probably best if you could try it out yourself.

Location: Canada, Eh! | I guess I will find out soon enough as it is on order, btu I am wondering if anyone is using the 8'6" XH (4-16oz??) for throwing very large bootails double 10/13s. (approx 14-15" long, weighing close to that max rating). I'll be paring it with a 7001.
Price point is very attractive for sure.

Overall pretty good rods, caught lots of fish with them, and used them for lots of lures. I twich 9" Grandma's all winter with the XH and it works great. You can throw a Rumbler or a Top Raider almost out of sight with the heavy.
I like the telescoping rods, just put four 8'-6" rods in the back of my short box pickup this afternoon with out a problem. Pretty slick rods.
