Subject: Boat sales Tax in Wisconsin??

Looking at buying a used boat in Wisconsin from a private party not a dealer and was wondering if you pay sales tax on a used boat in Wisconsin. I'm from MN and you only have to pay tax on the trailer, not the boat when you purchase within the state. Just wondering if it's similar or if I will have to pay a tax?

If I do what is the tax%%

Thanks

Location: Stevens Point, Wi.
Tax is charged when registration is applied for. If you are going to be registering it in Min., you won't have Wi. tax to worry about. Be sure to have a receipt with a breakdown of individual values of boat, motor, and trailer signed by the seller.

You only pay tax on the trailer. You can determine the value of it yourself.
