 | Hey all! I'm fairly new to the muskie game, not the fishing game, but we all know they aren't the same thing. I'm running a 97 Phantom and would just like to know what you guys think. I love the layout but have mostly been a bass/pike fisher on smaller lakes. I'm hoping to take her on some bigger water this summer and would like to know what you guys think of them. She's got a 115hp merc and is a 1997 model. I appreciate it and love all the great stuff you guys have on here. Been reading for about 2 months and have learned a lot.
 Figure 8ing away!!

 | You shouldn't have a problem on just about any water. I've seen guys on Lake Michigan with a tin bin and a 25hp multiple miles off shore. But as long as your not stupid about going out in four footers on Mille Lacs, or any other major body of water like that, you should be just fine, imho. |

 | Dan. What Merckid said dito, I used my 17'7" Hydra-sport for a muskie guide boat for over 10 years it served me very well , the Phantom should bounce off rocks better then glass , I got into trouble with mine on Georgian Bay in a storm and hit some rock's cost my insurance comp. $2400. to fix it up. If your fishing lakes with unmark rocks I say stay with the Tin. Now if you going to fish lakes like Mille Lacs get into a glass 19'er or bigger. If I ever get a diferent boat it going to have to be at least a 19'er. You have a great boat use it as long as you can. (GATAGOFGR (8) ). Marv.

 | I have a 1995 Phantom and like it . Like the floor space between the decks but small front deck and short on storage. I have never run it on big water like Mille Lacs, and really would rather not. |
