I know this has been beaten to death, but what reels do you guys use (and like) for BIG bucktails? This is for my own benefit as well as others. I want to compile all of the choices in one thread. I know I won't include all of the options, so please add.

Thanks. Kyle

If you were to pick one reel just for the double 10 baits that is "used friendly" it would have to be the penn 975. There are no durability issues that I know. It's not too heavy and the gear ratio is good for pulling the double tens (there are better not so user friendly choices for burning these baits like the trinidad) and overall I believe the penn is the best choice.

there have been some issues with some of the newer Penns...go figure, once China gets involved in the process things go downhill....I have a 975 from the Pre China era and 2 newer ones and just the overall feel of the older one is better...
but I will agree...that reel is built for saltwater use and it is to me, the best reel for big 10s...been sayin it for 3 yrs now and some are finally coming over to the 975 dark side!

Oops. Typo up above.

Abu Garcia "Gig" Game 7000 (Black) is obviously supposed to read Abu Garcia Big Game 7000 (Black)....

Carry on...
