Larry Downes - 1/26/2008 2:45 PM

I'm a little weird when it comes to taste in music so don't abuse me too bad when you see my top ten. Some of these guys are pretty relaxing... I actually had Manilow's Copa Cabana playing when I got my PB 54" out east two summers ago.

1. Elton John
2. Barry Manilow
3. Neil Diamond
4. Afroman
5. George Clinton
6. Elvis
7. Thin Lizzy
8. The Bangles
9. Tony Bennet
10. Billy Joel

Larry

The Larry Downes listed above is clearly an imposter, as I never would have listed Elvis below anyone. It appears you fishing buddies can be your friends or YOUR DEADLY ENEMIES! and don't forget the ML before Downes next time.

Hey guys I really like this post, I love listening to tunes when I am out on the drink.  I like some serious "pump up" music while I'm out there casting my butt off!!!  Here are some specific jams I like when I'm casting the valley of the giants on vieux desert:

TCB  Bachman - Turner Overdrive

Winner take it all - Sammy Hagar

Eye of the tiger - Survivor

I want it all - Queen

Big time - Peter Gabriel

Winds of change - Starship

Danger zone - Kenny Loggins

If you can't get pumped after that mix, I don't know what will!!!!

Peace out

Phil

Usually it's just XM Radio on the boat, but driving to the lake is when I usually try and get psyched for the day. Goes a little something like this:

Oasis - _____ing in the bushes
Disturbed - Sons of Plunder
Godsmack - No Rest for the Wicked
Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child (slight return)
Overseer - Supermoves
George Thorogood - Bad to the Bone
American Headcharge - Seamless
Audioslave - Gasoline
Tool - Schism
Godsmack - Dead and Broken
Rage Against the Machine - Guerilla Radio
Tool - Right in Two
Soundgarden - Spoonman
Tool - Sober
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man

If I don't have that playlist going then any Godsmack, Disturbed, Tool, or Hendrix album is blasting.

Larry wins. Anyone that will admit to the Bangles wins the brass pair award!

Susanna Hoff is the most beautiful woman in the world. I've loved her since I was 11.

I would have to say

Tool
Green Day
Motley Crue (girls, girls, girls) means something different muskie fishing.
Cat Stevens

Mid day I'll go with harder more agressive tunes (older - talking heads, metallica, etc., then either early and late in the day (prime time) I like blues/jazz type music (Johnny Lange, Sade, etc., and some "out there" stuff like Enigma!!)

Although alot of the time, I don't have music on...

I guess what I'm gathering from this post is that the bulk of musky fisherman are either hippies or sweat rock fans. Disturbing

Geez- I must be a lot older than most of you guys.
In my place on Leech its The Dave Clark 5, Alan Parsons, Gary Moore, The Turtles, Guess Who, Grass Roots, Animals, Hollies, Steely Dan, 3 Dog Night, Eagles, Player, Blue Oyster Cult- 60's and 70's stuff that my kids and my students call the oldies.

But there is no noise in the boat except nice conversation.
Spring is coming in Iowa.

I had a couple of guests in my boat on Pelican and they wanted to listen to Country. Leann Rymes had a song "Blue Moon" or something like that, and the song came on and suddenly we saw 4 muskies in the time the song played, then, nothing. About 45 minutes later, the song came on again, and, you guesed it, we had two up to the boat. We spent the rest of the day scanning for that song, never found it, and saw nothing else.
