| i have fished white bear lake before but didnt fish it well enough to get used to it but anyway i was wondering if there are enough muskies in this lake to even fish for them...what size were they,what is the best location on this body of water,what type of lures are the best,etc.any info would be great. |

Location: Browerville, Minnesota | It seems to be a pretty popular lake with the muskie guys that live down in the metro area. I have heard of 50's coming out of there and assuming from the number of guys that fish it, it must have a pretty sustainable fish population. |

I would never ever fish white bear, no muskies, boat landing is shallow, to much boat traffic, I would go fish mill lacs.
All kidding aside, it a good body of water, Paul Hartman's MMT and TC Muskie Inc have been stocking this lake steadily for several years. Dont fish the lake much because its on the otherside of the metro. If have fished it twice, real slow, next time we saw 20 plus fish, lost one. If you want to hire a guide Josh borovsky does spends most of his june guiding the metro lake till water temps get to warm.

| well i going to stop by there in june probably the worst time to fish there...what are some producing lures?is it true that mahtimedo island and the bellaire club are good places to fish?what other metro city lakes do you guys prefer i go to?
minnetonka,waconia,etc.also are there any good tiger lakes close to the metro cities?

Location: Hugo, MN | White Bear Lake is a tough lake to fish, but there are some huge fish swimming in it. There are good numbers of 40 inch fish present, thanks to stocking efforts by Muskies, Inc. , but fishing can be feast or famine. I spent a long time on the lake without a GPS map, and I had a hard time finding fish. They tend to relate to deep weed edges, moving on top of the weed flats during prime times and feeding windows. With cabbage growing to 20 feet, it can be hard to find the edges and stay on them without a good map and some time on the water. A buddy and I were successful this year after three years of experimenting out there. We ran into fish almost every trip once we got an idea what was going on, and where they like to position themselves.
I would suggest trying early mornings and evenings into night to avoid the heavy recreational traffic. At times it is impossible to fish with all the traffic, especially the sailboats...bastards..., but if you can get out and fish a few spots effectively, you should find fish. They are there, and they have to eat sometime. |

Location: Otsego, MN | The Lake is very clear! I usually have avoided until fall. Lots of boaters as mentioned. Plenty of fish in there but I have had trouble getting them to eat. Lots of followers. Bulldawgs have been my best bet there in the past. |

| i have heard that if i drift along the mantimedo shore line and throw bucktails along it...is this a true producer or is there other spots?im an avid bucktail and topwater fisherman...so were do you think is the best location on wbl to cast topwaters like the topraider.and of course pedro you said bulldawhs produce would you tell me where i should fish dawgs on wbl also? |

| im going to be in the metro city around that time also but i decided that i would probably go to mille lacs for awhile and maybe fish tonka that is if the boat traffic isnt bad.....what a minute,thats not possible |

Location: mn | Last year for the metro tournament, there was a group of wake boarders catchin air long before any muskie boats hit the water. They were working a great spot. Can be busy but wb is a great lake that fishes bigger then it's size. |
