Our group will be going to Crane Lake in July and will primarily be fishing for walleyes and smallmouth. I've heard that some muskies swim in Crane.

Should I consider bringing my muskie gear? Also, has anyone ventured into Shoepack Lake? Thanks for the help.

Crane Lake muskies are few and far between but I would still bring a rod a few lures along as some nice pike abound and you might run into a muskie. Shoepac fish are small 24-36 inches at best.

Vermillion dumps in there doesn't it? I would say few and far between too but maybe the population will increase over time.

been there done that!!!! very few and far between,,will be someday!!! I think this is a prime candidate for one of the '8" new lakes in the future,, the bad news is the ones that get caught mostly get kept by the houseboaters who hook them fishing for walleyes thats what we were told by someone who works on the lake
