Posts: 680 Location: Muskoka Ontario,Canada | Hi folks, Mike Hulbert commissioned me to render an airbrushed painting of his good buddy and Stealth Tackle owner John Bette last year. The painting was kept a surprise until the 2008 Tri Esox Chicago Musky Show where Mike presented it to John. Here's Johns own words describing what he thinks of it... "Thanks Mike and Mike!!! Hulbert and Mike (Musky Snax) Bromelow that is.....I was completely surprised and shocked with what I received this weekend. I am still amazed with it! wow!!! Hulbert surprised me with a amazing painting done by Mike Bromelow of my 49" Indiana fish that I caught back in 2006 with mike in the Indiana musky classic. ill try to get some pics up later. the detail that Snax put into this painting is amazing! I didn't even realize at first it was a painting i thought i was getting a blown up and framed photograph of my fish. Thanks again guys! Is it true that when painting the picture the brushes kept breaking? Cool painting. Did I hear right that this fish was the 2nd largest of the tournament? The biggest must have been a monster.

Posts: 1080 | DANG! That's pretty cool! Nice job. Nice work! If my memory serves me correctly...the bigger fish that won the "big fish" of that years tourney was only a 1/2" longer? I think...don't quote me on that. It was not bigger than John's fish though. It was just a 1/2" longer. John's fish, if my memory serves me correctly, was a more quality fish, in that aspect..."bigger"....again...don't quote me on this...this was a long time ago... LOL!

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | Here is the photo that Mike (Snax) went off of. As you can see, every detail was captured. From the net, the depthfinder, the rod laying off the side, etc....it is dead on. Thanks again Mike, great job! Attachments ---------------- JB.jpg (36KB - 157 downloads)

There's no way that fish is 49 inches Cool stuff! Question for the artist; Can you do a picture of a fish in the water eating a lure?? You know sort of like what we see on the covers of magazines. John

Actually I'm going to do one soon as i get my 2007 lure orders finished off. I did post a painting of a musky grabbing a sucker a while back but I've gotten better since then. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone, they mean a lot.

Oneida, In questioning whether John's fish is 49", I gather you are thinking it's larger. Maybe you have forgotten that John is a little weasily guy. He makes 36"s look big.

Girth on this fish...I don't know. It was a nice thick fish for sure, but I don't girth my fish. Sorry can't help you out! MIKE HULBERT

Posts: 2037 Location: lansing, il | yup no girth measurment, since we were in a tourny at the time we were more interested in getting a accurate measurment and verification and gettin her back in the water as quick as possible.
