Hello,
I am looking into getting some new equipment. I was looking at the Abu Garcia, but what would the differences and/or similarities be between the C3 6500 and the c4 5600. They are both 90 bucks. Keep in mind I primarily throw a Suick Thriller Jerkbait.

Speaking of Jerkbaits, should I be looking at a smaller rod for a jerkbait? Like a 6'6" or 6'9"?? I am 6 foot tall. Or should I go for like a 7'7" or 8' because it's easier to figure 8 with?

Thanks a lot.

The 6500 is a larger reel than the 5600. As for the C3 to C4 issue, the C3 has a 5.3:1 gear ratio and the C4 has a 6.4:1 gear ratio, which will pick up line more quickly than the C3 model will. I use the C4 reels for all my jerkbait applications because it will pick up slack line quicker.

As for the length of pole......the best advice I can give you is to buy what you feel most comfortable with. I personally like a 6'9" rod for jerkbaits, but if you are going to use it for all of your baits, I would say go at least 7'6", but more importantly, get something you feel comfortable with.
