I use head cement generously on all my bucktail ties. The issue coming into play is the fumes are getting pretty bad. Ive noticed that after an hour or two I sometimes get a headache. Other times I think I get a little loopy. Sometimes its hard to realize how bad the fumes are because you get used to them only to have the wife walk in and almost fall over.

I know these things are not good for someone and I use a fan to try and keep air moving but am in a small room with no windows. What do people use to help out with this issue. I dont have an entire shop so Id be curious as to what small scale ideas are out there.

Thanks

This is a good topic..................I have similar problems with Etex. I bought a good mask used by painters but have found that fresh air ventilation is also a must to prevent the symptoms you have described.

I thought about trying to hook up a fan system, similiar to what would be in a bathroom. Problem being the "shop" is in a basement room without a window.

I use an 8 inch duct fan that installs inside the Duct outlet for my paint booth. I do all my painting and top coating there. The blower really sucks the fumes out. I bought mine at Lowes . Most Hardware stores and places like Home Depot and Menards carry them. Mine vents out a basement window that I replaced with a painted board. I have a vent valve from like dryer vent that opens when the blower is running it was very cheap to build and has been working flawlessly for 6 years. Kingfisher

a cheep way is if you have room is a furnace blower and motor. they are quiet and do pull major air. you would need to use a window set up or cut a hole in the wall
