Posts: 7115 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | The water's frozen, the shows are coming which means the world's largest muskie fishing swap meet is right around the corner! MuskieFIRST and Okuma Fishing are excited to announce the 8th annual Chicago Muskie Show Swap Meet at Official's Time Out in Hoffman Estates, IL on January 12th. Last year's Swap had a record attendance somewhere between 250 and 300 in attendance. Rods, reels, lures, and many other things muskie were up for sale or trade by many. Hard to find as well as hard to get rid of items were displayed all over the ballroom sized venue. Okuma Fishing http://www.okumafishing.com again stepped forward to provide some great items as raffle and door prizes. Okuma hats and visors will be given out as well as the raffling off of one Okuma EVX-C-861H-T's telescopic rod and one Okuma Induron 400a reel with Power Handle. Okuma rods and reels have were used by many here at MuskieFIRST in 2007 and the response was overwhelmingly positive! For more information on the EVX rod series go to http://www.okumafishingteam.com/rods/conventional/evxspecialty.html and for more details on the Induron series of reels check out http://www.okumafishingteam.com/reels/roundbaitcast/induron.html As an added wrinkle to the event, we will be collecting canned food to donate to the Arlington Heights, IL Food Pantry. Though not required, we are requesting that each attendent bring at least one canned food item for donation. Each person in attendance is assured at least one entry into the Okuma raffles and to up the ante, each person who does bring a canned food item will be given three extra raffle tickets for each canned item they bring in for donation. The swap meet officially starts at 7PM but in year's past many have claimed tables to display their wares prior to this time so if you're bringing a lot to show/sell, it might be a good idea to get there a bit early! Location information: Official's Timeout 2354 W. Higgins Rd. Hoffman Estates, IL. Directions from Harper College: Roselle Road South to Golf Road – 2.0 Miles Turn Right (West) on Golf Road Golf Road to Higgins – 0.8 Miles Turn Right (Northwest) on Higgins Travel 2.3 miles to Official’s Time Out (on Right side of street) So who's going? Location: Minneapolis, MN | We did hear some complaints last year about slowness of wait staff. We discussed this with managment and they have responded. If you are considering to order food there it should be much faster this year. They will staff a full bar upstairs and doubled the kitchen staff in preperation for our crew. | ||
