| I own a heavy action fig rig rod and am having trouble finding a good size reel for it going to basspro on wed. to find a reel.so help would be great  |

| Not sure what you mean when you say you're having trouble finding the right size reel for your Fig. Virtually any typical musky reel should fit on that reel seat fine. If you're asking about what kind of reel for musky fishing that's a topic that gets discussed quite a bit and you'll find dozens of answers. Lot of variables at work there. Think about how much time you're going to use it, what type of baits you throw most of the time, budget, left or right hand retrieve, etc. |

They should have on display a Pete Maina Musky PMX300 wich comes in 5.2:1 & 4.2:1 gears, I think they still come with a power handle N/C, great reel for $99.99, this reel has some very HD pinion gears, great reel for baits under 6oz, next ck out the ABU RCN60HC this reel has 5.3:1 gears power handle, a good reel for $159.95, and they should have a SHIMANO 400 TE this reel very well built , you can order a power handle from SHIMANO for it, it's one of the best reel you can buy, but U will pay the price, to a tune of $349.99, they also have a 400b which sell's for $219.99, good reel for the $$, and the DAIWA LUNA 300, 5.1:1 gears 6 fiber drag system, and you can order a power handle from DAIWA for it. They retail $249.99. If you going to cast pounders or 10-13 size double bladed spinner baits alot of the time, ck out the SHIMANO CTE 700, it's a BIG reel for BIG baits with a BIG PRICE OF $389.99. I hope that helps you out, try out a reel in your own hands and maybe you can put one a rod and try it out. Buy what U think and feels right to U. |

I liked the reel enough to replace every reel on every rod I use with Okuma product. Up to this year, I had quite a mish mash of different reels. I'll be selling my old reels at the Milwaukee swap. |

If so, how does it compare to the Okuma 400 Induron? And what is the price of the Induron?
I have a Luna and am in the market for 2 new reels this upcoming season
P.S. I love the Luna, very smooth and reliable.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Yup, I've used a Luna, a buddy had me try his for an afternoon this summer. Nice reel. I'm not sure there is a way to properly compare the Luna to an Induron as far as quality, both are smooth and both are tough. I like the Induron pricing, that's for sure. I use the Induron 250 for most applications, and the 400 for the heavy stuff. And, as I have mentioned before, I like being able to contact the rep right here, and get answers to questions about the product. Plus, I got a few FREE power handles after I got my reels, pretty cool.

Steve I agree 100%. I'll be doing the same thing with all of my reels. I loved the Okuma this year and gave it a really good workout. I had a couple of other reels go in the shop 2 times during the year, but the Okuma's held up great with noooo issues at all. |

Will be checking out an Induron, and one of the red reels. As much as I love their line counters for durability, smoothness and price point, I cannot see being overly dissapointed in their casting equipment. |

Ditto. Same situation with the Lunas. Gonna give the Induron a try this year as my workhorse reel. Mark's been a terrific help. Good customer service is rare these days, and having someone readily available is awesome. |

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin | This summer Kevin sent me a couple of the new Fig Rig "Jawbreakers" that I designed. Without a doubt, this is the best big bait rod ever. It pounds hooks harder, casts big baits better and gives more action to slash baits like Dawgs, CD Depthraiders and Tyrants.
I matched my Jawbreaker with Calcutta 400TE. I worked this combo over super hard and it balanced and performed better than any combo I've ever fished. It's funny to have a combo that makes 80# PowerPro feel too small. The combo performs very nicely with 100# superbraids.
If you go to the Chicago Show, make sure you stop and see Kevin and this rod. When the rod blows your mind, then look at the price tag. I'm sure you'll bring one home.

| Justin what are the rod spec's on your Jawbreaker ??? I originally planned on buying an 8 foot Heavy Fig Rig model but both places I went to look for one and purchase one the sales guys steered me away from them. They said they would not recommend buying one because there's no consistency in them and guys are breaking them as fast as they are buying them. So I went with a different brand of rod. But today I was thinking I absolutely love the ones I own and that if I could find and 8 ft heavy that was made in Minnesota I would snap it up if I found one because I absolutely love my 6' 10" Heavy, my 7'6" Med Heavy and my 8' glass/comp Heavy that I use for trolling. Im not willing to chance overseas stuff. Can you help me out? |

I guess I can't vouch for the sales people you spoke with but if Phil Schweik and I can go a year without breaking a rod, good enough for me. There were a lot of days and fish put on them mostly with very big baits. Not to mention, if I had an issue, their customer service is amazing. This rod is available at Gander Mtn in Wausau and Rollie's might have one or two left. Basically, it's a white pine with line guides. All of the information for the updated Jawbreakers will be at Chicago. I launched pounders with them and successfully fished 2 pounders with them last year. email me if I can be of further assistance.
