Location: n.ireland | what strength line should i use for large swimbaits like magdawgs and suzies?
i'm currently using 65lb powerpro but as it needs changing should i go up to 100?

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | 65 is OK but 80 would be better, but you will have less line on reel by 20 - 30yd if you use 80 # line. If you get a bird nest on a cast with 3-6 oz bait you can snap 65 # line, 80# you will not. Any baits over 6oz use 100#.

| Pikemaster hit the nail on the head. Bird's nests will cost you baits with the 65#. You might consider looking into Cortland or Tuff lines. They are much smoother, more flexible, and quieter in your guides. I, personally, never cared for the whiny sound Power Pro makes as it runs through the guides, esecially with bucktails. |
