Anyone have a good suggestion for an electrical shop heater 110v? Need one for the garage while I package up baits this winter. I have natural gas but don't want to go to the expense of putting in a full blown heater with blower in the garage. Just something that puts out a medium amount of heat for the packaging area but won't blow the power every other minute Also, not looking ot heat the entire garage just want to push out some heat into my immediate area. Would be nive if HomeDepot or Menards carried it if you have bought a good one from there.

Thanks!

With 110v you will not be able to heat a space in your garage shop. I don't think you can get more than 200btu heater on 110v, to heat a 500sq ft garage you need a 15,000btu heater. You can get a portable propane heater that you can run off a 20lb -grill tank, that will be your best bet for a porable heater for your garage. BE CAREFUL NOT BURN DOWN YOUR GARGE WITH A PORTABLE HEATER.

I use a Mr. Heater Propane single head on a 5 gallon bottle.......the whole set up ran me about 80 dollars. It definitely won't heat the garage but it will run you out if you keep it close to you.

Thanks guys. Just looking for a little heat by my feet. Trying ot stay away from the propane due to the confined space but my garage like most has some air running through it. Thanks for the suggestions. My dad used to use thos jet heaters in our big farm shop when I was a kid and those suckers put out some serious heat with the blower. Sucked up a lot of fuel too! Thanks

if all you need is a little "heat for your feet" while you're working in the shop (ie., don't need to heat the whole garage), then a decent commercial electric should be fine.
i've got a Lasko ceramic tower heater in my basement that you can't sit next to for more than a minute or two. bought it at Wally World for less than $100.

i see they also make some "utility" models designed for garages/shops.

They made a propane heater ,brand name White. They would heat a garage real well. They were non vented.

If you just want to heat yourself, and not the garage, you'd be best off with a radiant heater.
