Location: Racine, Wi | It depends on how deep you are looking to get. Dipsy's will help get your baits away to the sides of the boat, so they will help you get your lines spread out. They also won't get you as deep as riggers will.
With both, you have to watch your releases. Dipseys might release prematurely if you don't have the tention set properly, as will riggers. Just 2 different releases. I think both have their time and place, and both will get bit, but depending on what you are looking to do, you could use either. The nice thing about riggers is you can run shorter lines in close (since the ball is basically under the boat), so depending on how many lines you can troll with, you could get some funky sets as far as lines go. |
