Here is the first fish from the new lucky 13 blades from Figure 8. Jeff Anderson caught this 52x25 fish while fishing with Lee Tauchen. It was the first day the blades were on the water. Not a bad way to break them in:)

I heard rumors Musky Mayhem has a double #13 or #14 coming out soon? These sound like some good lures for a workout. Who can argue with the above results!!! NICE FISH!!!

That is what I was throwing, #13 blades from Musky Mayhem, and YES it was a workout....Luke Ronnastrand uses a shimano trinidad reel for the blades, it looks like a saltwater reel. He said that reel made the 13s pull like a #5 single blade...........

The blades don't retrieve that much harder. Once you get past the initial shock the first couple minutes, you become used to them. It is somewhat comparable to how you felt the first time you threw the 10's. There is more resistance in the retrieve but you'll notice the difference in vibration immediately.

Figure 8 is excited about the upcoming release of the Lucky 13. It is similar to the BigMama but utilzes 63 strand skirts instead of 45 strand for a more full look. The skirts are amazing in the water and dance wildly from the turbulence of the blades. The hooks have also been beefed up to 7/0's.

LOL that is a saltwater reel! You know your a serious muskie fisherman when you fish with saltwater gear! Would make your day a little nicer though...

Scott,

Where can I get a few of those Figure 8- Lucky 13s? Are they available now? If not will they be available at the shows this winter? By the way, I really like the Figure 8 Big Mama! I know some of the double 10s retail for $25 and yours is like $17. The Big Mama is a great bait and well worth the price. They have caught some real nice fish too I can't wait to get my hands on the 13s Hopefully they will be available soon.
What will be the approximate retail price on the Lucky 13s?

Sorry, no web site yet. You can contact me and I'll point you in the right direction. These will be available in about two weeks.

Here is a picture of the finished lure "The LUCKY 13's" and one of the #10 next to a #13. These blades are only available through Figure 8. They are stamped from .032" brass and hold up nice. This is NOT the same blade as mayhems. Figure 8 developed this blade and is very excited about its introduction.

What is going to be really cool about these #13 blades is they are cut from .032" metal. Most of the #10 out there are cut from .025". The slightly thicker blade will be more durable than the .025 yet still have close to the same action. This .032 #13 blade will only be available from Figure 8 Lures! It will be more durable than the .025 thickness.

The first time I threw the bait with Scott (Figure 8) was off a pier. When I went into the figure eight for the first time along side the dock and a pike came out from under and smashed it! Scared the crap out of me.

The first ten minutes we had the bait in Mille Lacs, we caught a 40 plus pounder! That was the picture in the first post here. I was sold!

Very cool lure! Those double #13s will be hot for the next two years and then a standard in the tackle box for many years to come.

We have a new web site
http://www.figure8lurecompany.com
Just launched it today!!! It will need some tweaking but it is a start. We plan to implement an order form in the near future and possible a shopping cart. If any of you have any input on how we can improve the site please feel free to let us know.

If your looking for The LUCKY 13's they will be available at the Chicago show in Rollie & Helen's booth. I talked with Jay today and they will be bringing a good selection with them to the show.

Happy New Year,
