was down on waubee in kosciusko county and was throwing a lil eagletail and trying to get mr. pike to come home for supper and ended up with a 17.5" bass. they're just as tasty as pike are. had 3 bass follow a Powerbait in at one time but no takers. as least more peaceful than webster would have been..karol

Took my boss from work out Saturday evening. He had never musky fished before, so I tried my best to teach him some things. It will take several trips to get him into the game, but it was fun. Saw a few fish moving around, but no takers. I didnt cast to much as I was trying to give him the best shot at catching a fish.

I watched Norm catch a 45 1/2" on Lake Namkagon Saturday. I was working the 20' breakline for eyes, Norm was on the same spine. I heard him yell, turned to my wife and said "Norm's got one" He said he was going to catch a 46 before he went out. Liar!

Had a great time at the Tuffy Boat GTG this weekend. Lots of good people were there, and lots of people showed up to take test drives of all the Tuffy boats. I got to be the first to drive the new X 190 Saturday morning, right off the trailer. Wow, what a boat! This boat is going to be under alot of muskie nuts beginning next year. This boat will handle big water, has a fairly low profile, fast, stable, lots of DRY storage, a huge front deck, big livewell, and great rod storage. If I didn't fish Green Bay as much as I do, this would be my next boat. Did I say WOW!?

I got out river fishing from shore on Friday night and had a fish hit and miss and then one follow. The wind on the river was so strong it had white caps and never saw the follow until the rear fin starting swimming away. Tried the same spots on Saturday afternoon and picked up a 37" and a 35" on Double Cowgirls.

I too made it up for the Tuffy Boat GTG. Had a great time on the water and like Shep said, this new X190 is going to be AWESOME! Can't wait to have one of those in the garage next spring! Thanks again to the whole Tuffy crew and the great hospitality they provided us with. Both Friday and Saturday were definitely worth the couple hour drive up there.

Thanks again!

Got out with esox50 on Saturday. We boated 4 fish from about 1-4pm. Two on 10" crankbaits, one on a glide bait, and one on a SLUT. Fish were caught circling schools of baitfish.

Watch out of the teetertottering turtles!

Fished the Haliburton area on the weekend, three boated for my pal Glen, two boated for myself with about another 15 fish raised that wouldnt go,tough bite.Lost another on a short strike and am beating my selfup over the loss of a real good fish on the cowgirl, the evening before i landed a 42 incher that had the front hook on the CG in a bad spot and i was forced to cut all three shanks, the operation went smooth and the fish went away strong.Dark was setting in so we called it a night. The next morning at first light we headed to one of my favorite off shore spots, without thinking i pick up my combo and chuck that DCG along the deep side and as my bait is aproaching within sight a real good fish high fortys maybe low fifty inch fish comes strait up and eats my bait right at the blades,no hook there due to cutting it the night before, swing and clean miss fish gone, usually i get over something like this quick but yesterday i had a hard time shaking it and never felt like i really got going because of it,OH WELL ya win some ya loose some,it just seems to sting a little more when its a preventable fault on your behalf.

Didn't get a chance to get out this past weekend but finally got a picture back of a little guy from last weekend. There's something about catching a fish off the back of a boat while still tied up at the launch and as your fishing partner is slowly walking back from the Port-o-let that really gets the day off right. Remainder of the evening was uneventful going 0 for 4.

Ha, that's awesome. Had the same thing happen a few years back on our way to the Chip... Someone in the truck needed to go, so we pulled into the Butternut Lake launch and proceeded to catch one from the pier while waiting.

Three little ones for me and lost two more, one felt nice but I did not see it. Muskiefirster Lou got this 38 and lost a 43-44"er just 15 minutes earlier at the boat.

Fishing in the metro yesterday, FINALLY got my girlfriend her first fish. She's been busting it since opener with little to show for it and this one was really exciting. Also moved 6 other fish before and after the storm. I think she understands the addiction a little better now.....

Marc, congrats to you and your girlfriend! Awesome way to get her into fishing and hopefully now she'll catch the "bug".

Headed up north again Friday night and fished straight through the night and the next morning. Took my older brother up there as he has just recently got into bass fishing and I told him he needs to catch a real fish. I had a follow mid-morning that went directly to the sucker after the first turn on the eight, but decided not to eat. About 15 minutes later, I look over and see a nice fish towards the surface swimming fast right at the sucker so I told Jason (my brother) "watch this". Waited a few seconds, nothing, grabbed the rod and put the slightest tension on it and "weeeeeeeeeeee" the clicker was screaming in a hurry! I told him that as soon as I closed the bail he had to set the hooks, so he looks at me and says "WHAT!!!? I'm not taking that, you hooked it all up and everything." That doesn't matter I told him, I wanted to get him a musky and that's why we were there. So I hand it to him, close the bail and said set them as hard as you can. I held on to the rod with one hand to see if he got any hooks in it and sure enough the tip was bouncing!!! Then all of a sudden he says, ahhh man, I think he got off and hands me the rod which I immediately start cranking to make sure the musky didn't just run at the boat and sure enough, I could feel her right away and gave the rod back to him. After a few good runs and some acrobatics, I netted his first musky and knew it was a nice one right away. Measured out at 45". I'm at school right now, and have a "Brewers date" in a bit, but when I get home tonight, I'll make sure to post the pics. You guys will like 'em!
Aside from that, I ent out late Friday afternoon by myself and got an upper 30" musky on a local lake. I'm starting to not mind this whole "go to school during the week and fish the weekend" thing. Two and a half days with a 48", 45", 41", and upper 30" to show for it! I can only hope it can get better!!! Good luck to everyone that gets out there this weekend.
I might be able to get lucky enough to get out Saturday, meeting my dad up in Hayward as he has to do something up there in the morning, but Sunday I'm headed to Minnesota to watch Favre break some records and the Packers get to 4-0.
Good luck guys, Jake Bucki
