started making some big 10" bucktails with dual size 10 colorados and was wondering what would be the best way to ship them to customers. I looked at stamina and they have the plastic boxes and was wondering if that would be the best way or if there is something better?

I dont think bucktails really need to be boxed.... Just put them in a box with some bubblewrap or newspaper ect... or get some of those bubblewrap envelopes. Also if you ship USPS priority you get the boxes/envelopes free and stuff.

I just bought some bags, 13" long and 4" wide or so. They work pretty good. I agree, I don't think anyone keeps the packaging anyway so go cheap.

I ship everything Priority mail. Boxes are free at the post office. I charge $5.00. Usually, it costs $4.95 shipping, so it costs my customers $0.05 for my wife to got to the post office. Sometimes i take a loss. Cost of doing business to keep them happy.

USPS is the best as others have said. Now if you need some good packaging that you can do at home try ULINE. They have tough seal poly bags, shrink wrap, any size box paper or poly, etc. etc....

I use Priority Mail with delivery confirmation to protect myself from...."It never showed up." Unfortunately DC isn't tracking, and I've "lost" several lures that I was told..."Left Timbucktoo arrived Madison....no further information".
I should tell you to cover your hooks, because I have been contacted in person by someone form the USPS because a box was damaged and a hook point was extending out of the box and injured an employee. Fortunately not seriously. Packing Peanuts don't count as hook protection. They thought that each lure should be sent with the hooks detached and placed in a hard plastic box.
Nobody said it was going to be easy......or cost effective.

I have shipped a few lures in the bubble wrap envelopes. I also bought some vinyl tubing at the local hardware store for 11 cents a foot. I cut the tubing and slide a piece over the hook point. Works great. Take it down to the Post Office and you are all set.
