Location: Lockport, IL | The last time I was out was a week and a half ago. The clearwater lake that I frequent seems to have had quite a bloom. Water visibility is down to less than a foot and a half around the entire lake. In the past there are usually areas that are not as bad, but not this year. Usually when the thick pea soup appears I run the other way, but I know that these fish still need to feed. I have never had a lot of luck fishing the bloom and could use all the help I could get. What are some of the methods some of you use to fish these conditions? Any ideas on retrieval speed, lure type, lure color and whatever else you can think of would be great.
