Posts: 32955 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | How dis the Muskies treat you this weekend? Keith and I got out on a combination Bass and Muskie trip for a few hours in Saturday late evening's mist and light rain. We caught a BUNCH of bass on Muskie sized creatures, moved a few muskies on spinnerbaits; Keith lost one and got one. Several nice pike, too. Today it was off to Eagle River for the Alliance event. WOW what a crowd! How'd the muskies treat you? Attachments ---------------- DSC_0032.JPG (5KB - 126 downloads)

Posts: 127 Location: Brookfield | Stuck a 43 this weekend and lost another while trolling. Water temps are starting to drop, this rain and cooler weather in Se Wi will help alot. 12 more days until my annual 3 lakes trip. NUT

Posts: 108 Location: Crystal Lake,Illinois 60014 | Yes, with the amount of rain it is helping with cooler temps and also really perkin these fish up. My buddy popped a 44.5" on the Chain on Sunday morning, and I ended up fishing my home lake(Crystal Lake) after the rain last night and managed my 1st Tiger of the year, nice chubby 38". Giant Killers and Llungens saw the action shallow.

Posts: 619 Location: Verona, WI | I picked up a 43" on a trip to northern Wisconsin but more importantly hooked a fish on a jig. Usually I fish a jig only when I have not seen a fish and it is more a sign of desperation than an attempt to catch a fish. The cold front that went through seemed the perfect spot to try it and it worked. I'll have to spend more time with it to get confident in the presentation. Shane

Posts: 785 | Tryed a new lake in Minnesota, Saturday we got a 46, 46.5, and a 47. Sunday we fished a half day and boated a 38, and 41.5. I think the water temps must of been ideal for muskies becouse they fought like freight trains. Fun trip even though we only had 4 hours all weekend when it wasn't raining on us.

Posts: 12 Location: SAVAGE MN | Was out on Friday afternoon for a couple of hours in the metro and my 7-year old Eli popped his first Muskie, a fat 34" right in front of a swimming area packed with people. A couple of them got out of the water... too funny! On Thursday I read the post about forgetting the camera and guess what? Yep, left it in the truck. I was upset but Eli says, “Don’t worry dad let’s just catch another one.” We also caught a ton of Bluegills and one small Largemouth. Fun afternoon! Dave

| Moved 3 Sunday Morning. One was a slob! The fish were following low and slow on Downsized twitch baits. The upside is I know where they live now. . . | |||

Congrats also go out to Kyle Marsanick from Smoker Tackle(S.S. Shad) who boated a 52 1/2 the night before while fishing with Gregg Thomas. The Boys from Missouri had a pretty good trip!!! Location: Hayward WI | Fished on Cass with my wife for the first time 8/15/8/19, with Patricia Strutz and her Couples Chasing Muskies class. Met some great people in the group along with Patricia and Tony Grant. My wife got 2 - 42"ers, one on a Hawg Wobbler at nite, the other twitchin a 8" Slammer. She let me have a couple of smaller ones, 33&34", but man are they pretty fish. Didn't move anything big, but had a good time. ![]() Posts: 412 Location: Waukesha, WI | to ski or not to ski; that is the question. Hit local water with Magruter Saturday. Trolled up a few, but all in all really glad to see the water temps down and Magruter workin' his tail off to keep the baits in rotation.

Posts: 101 Location: Northern Illinois | Spent last weekend in Northwest WI. 17th was blue sky with a North wind. We tried everything in our search for active fish, trolling crankbaits, fast and slow surface baits, burning bucktails, jerkbaits, glidebaits, nothing happened but son got a big largemouth (5 lber) on a muskie size buzzbait at sunset. 18th, drizzled all day with the wind changing directions all day. Had a nice 40" follow on a bucktail at mid-day, then my son got his first muskie at 7:30 pm (30"), on a Suick. I caught a bass on a trolled Depth Raider. Son had a 40" hit a Suick but was off in 3 seconds. A friend in a nearby boat caught a nice fat 46"er on a Hughes River glide bait. 19th was drizzling again, saw nothing and had to head home. My friends headed out to Mille Lacs, and on Monday he got a 53" er, his buddy got a 46"er, both on double Cowgirls. They're fishing today, so I don't have a report for Tuesday yet.

Posts: 136 Location: Chicago | Since Renaldo put out the info from our Wis/MN trip, here's the pics. Went on a 2 day guide trip with Luke Ronnestrand. He held up the 2nd fish for me due to a wrist injury at Yellow lake, didn't want to risk dropping the fish. I had a hard time holding the first one. 1st pic - Yellow Lake Rest are 2 day guide trip at Mille Lac Edited by rob.s 8/24/2007 8:15 PM Attachments ---------------- Picture 008.jpg (49KB - 123 downloads) Picture 014.jpg (65KB - 112 downloads) Picture 013.jpg (85KB - 118 downloads) rob.JPG (58KB - 128 downloads) Picture 021.jpg (45KB - 125 downloads) Picture 015.jpg (53KB - 112 downloads) Picture 018.jpg (47KB - 126 downloads)
