Can anyone offer me pointers on using this on your lures. I was told it really keeps your baits from getting torn up. I would like to use it on my softer balsa lures which I think is a good idea but I also want to use it on my Manta's and some other glide baits that tend to tear themselves up with hookmarks. Will it ruin the action? How do you apply it and is it easy to work with?
Thanks, Nut

Basically, its like putting 40 coats of varnish on your bait, so yes it will protect it, but you have to be careful, as it will add a little bit of weight and bouyancy. It must be mixed very carefully and exactingly. Try to keep the air bubbles our when stirring. It can be brushed on quickly, but the lures must be turned or rotated quite a bit to avoid runs, drips and errors. Some guys use BBQ type rotissere set ups. You also need to let it set up at least 36-48 hours in dry warm climate for a good hard seal. Go on the Basement Bait Makers Board here and search for more information if you need.

Eventually, hooks cut through environtec also. Try "T"ing your hooks on all your walk the dog baits jerk and topwaters.
