Is Shack Attack lures not using the formula X to make the Curly Sue anymore? If so what an absolute shame. I caught three fish this weekend that all inhaled a Curly Sue and the lure was totally unscathed. Did they realize the lure was indestructable and that you wouldn't have to buy them in bulk?? I want my Formula X Curly Sue back!!!!!!!

Yes, it's true. They had too many complaints from people who didn't realize that you couldn't mix Formula X plastic and traditional plastic baits. They literally had a melted mess on their hands. Because of that, I understand they discontinued all Formula X and re-tooled to make all baits with the traditional mix.

Great, now I'll have to carry a torch to melt my baits back together after every 20" pike takes a swipe at it. I can't help but think it may have been a little to durable and they figured ther sales numbers might dip. It sure seems like a step in the wrong direction!

Posts: 2024 | That IS a shame. I like the durability of Formula X. I put a fish in the net last night that T-boned a Curly Sue and there wasn't a SINGLE mark on the bait!!!!!!!!!! To all those that complain about the bleeding/melting, it's not that difficult to put them in small plastic bags. Quite a no-brainer actually. I bought one from Ebay (and a Bulldawg) and the seller put both Bulldawg and Curly Sue in the same box, but put the Curly Sue in a plastic bag. Obviously, there wasn't a problem with the bleeding. Can Andy from Shack Attack confirm that the Formula X line-up is in fact being discontinued?

Andy is no longer making baits with Formula X , he told me that himself .... personally I like the regular stuff over that Formula X stuff...plus I didn't like the fact I had to always make sure those baits werent touching/hanging/laying anywhere near other dawgs etc....good move IMO... plus, I found formula X DID tear and was next to impossible to melt or glue back together... Andy is making the right move IMO.

Both Andy and Brad put out quality products (Shackattack, and Musky Innov.) and all have their time and place. I believe, what set the musky world on its ear, this year, is that new line of rods, from Trophy Tech. I will not throw another soft plastic from anyone, without that line of rods. Outfreakingstanding for throwing all soft plastics (super mag rod),as well as throwing Big double tens (Gerry's girls and Party girls).

Posts: 1243 Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | Andy addressed this issue and gave his explanation for changing away from Formula X a couple of months ago. That can be found here: http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=34... Sounds like he made the right move to me. Aaron
