Well, after watching the weather report, it seems like my 3 day weekend (comming up this weekend) is gonna be flat calm, sunny/high skies and HOT....
the lake we will be on is very clear with a visability of about 12-14 ft when it is calm....
IMO these are the toughest fishing conditions there are....
since we only have 3 days, we will fish all day and into the night....
for my money, early morning has been productive, and late in the day...
but this weather just plain sucks...

what are your thoughts??
any presentation tactics that might be recommended??
is trolling mid day when it is hottest the best idea?

Reverse your schedule. Sleep during the day and fish at night. Steve

what kind of lake? what region? forage?
there are lakes in northern WI where fishing open water under those conditions can and does produce...don't rule out anything...this past weekend when many musky guys were napping from there nites on the water or early morning ventures we managed to put some nice fish in the boat from noon to 3pm...
i guess for me more info is needed on the type of lake you are fishing ...depth, forage, etc etc...
they can and do bite at all times of day under any conditions..

central, mn
Clear lake, 10 - 14 foot of visibility,
5500 acres, main forage base is ....i have no idea..... ciscos, bullheads, and panfish of all types
lots of great cabbage beds, and deep weeds.....and the lake is fairly deep with several holes over 80'
lots of pleasure boaters.
hopefully that adds more to the equation.....
thanks!

well you just gave it away!

I'd agree with Jonesi...fishing evenings, into the nite and early mornings sure does work if it's too hot in the day to fish..but if it gets windy or some weather moves in get your butt on the water during the day..
