Im headed up to Morison Friday morning and will be staying until the 14th. How has the bite been? What has been working? Also how is the water level compared to last year? Thanks!

Water level is in the 40th percentile which I assume means 40 percent of capacity. That means it's probably still low. As far as a report, wish I had one for ya! Leave for Morson the 15th myself. Can't wait!

I had some luck with 9" Grandmas and 8" Jakes hitting rocks or dragging spinner baits also accross rocks, Buck tails with firetiger blades also worked good, and Jack Pots.

Good Luck

Ben

Well im back from 10 days in paradise. We had a pretty good outing, boating 2 over 50, a 49.5, a 48. I will try to post some pics

I had to compress them quite a bit so the clarity isnt great but you get the idea.

Great looking fish man. I can't wait to get up there in late August. Where kind of structure did you guys find most of the fish on? The weeks leading up to our trip are going to kill me.

Pretty much the same old same old spots... rocky points and small islands were good. A little cabbage or bull rushes made them better. On windy days we found them in slack water instead of the usual wind blown points and shorelines.

Thanks ZMan...again, congrats on the fish. I was just curious and like to get an idea of what the fish are doing throughout the season. Each year seems to be different so its nice to get an idea of what the fish are doing as a particular season goes on...especially when our trip is getting so close. I don't know what I enjoy more, the actual trip or the months/weeks leading up to the trip with all of the anticipation and game-planning that goes on in my head.

Current report (Sab Bay) for those interested, courtesy Cowgirls...

Water temps - 68-78 (68 in morning, 78 in afternoon with varying temps depending on where you go).

Clarity - 2' in most places. Slight algae bloom. Miles Bay is very clear.

Weather has been steady/stable making for good consistent action. The fish are moving on bucktails and topwater for the most part, with some hitting and following 'Dawgs and Suicks. Cowgirls are DOMINATING right now. For topwater, we're moving and catching fish on Jake Schinderle's "Hoodini." It's out-fishing all other WTD topwaters we've been throwing. The Rumbler is also moving some nice fish.

Big girls are showing up here and there. Have yet to run into one over 50" however, a few in the upper 40" range.
