For some this is good news...for others, oh well!! LOL!!

After a 9 day bout (in the hospital) with a very rare fungal pneumonia, they finally released me from the hospital with a strong antibiotic that fights off this particular strain of pneumonia. I live here in Grand Rapids, MI., and by the third day, they were at a loss. I felt like I was in an episode of "House." The finally brought the infectious disease team in from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, about 150 miles away, to see me through this process, and diagnose the issue!

So, I'm on the mend and ready to start fishing again! It took alot out of me, but I am getting stronger every day!

Sincerely,
Donnie

Sounds like it could have been Blastomycosis.

Several people in are area contacted it and it made them gravely ill.

Welcome back, now start sharpening those hooks!

Glad to hear you are feeling better Donnie. I can't imagine the feeling of being in the hospital and not knowing whats wrong...especially with something that serious. Best of luck on a quick recovery.

Glad you're up, around and kicking Donnie.
Better mend up quick, you got places to go and fatties to see.

Glad to hear, I've taken care of people with much, much worse outcomes from fungal lung infections. Sometimes the treatment is worse than the disease as antifungals like Amphotericin B is nasty stuff. Get on the water, it cures everything!!

Donnie
That sure sounds nasty, glad you are getting rid of it. How are your shoulders doing?

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the nice comments...and I can honestly say I feel better today than I did 6 months ago! I am ready to catch some fatties! I was busy helping Weston get packed for his two week trip to Canada. He is excited, and I found myself getting excited last night too!

May 2007 be your best year ever!!
