| My wife and I are wanting to spend a few days away, I said we could go anywhere she wants since I get my own fishing trips...her choice was northern WI on a lake. Fine by me. So I'm looking for something in the NW quarter, maybe Sawyer/Washburn counties, shooting for 500-1000 acre lake give or take with decent muskies. Want to rent a cabin for 3-4 days, reasonably priced. Any suggestions for lakes and/or places to stay would be greatly appreciated? I've been on cabin rental sites, researched lakes...plenty to choose from. Just looking for help to narrow it down.

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | I'm not sure if you meant the NE portion of the state, Sawyer and Washburn are NW. If you truly mean the NE I would recommend the Rhinelander area in Oneida County. Lots of lakes in that size range for you, and lots of resorts to chose from. Three lakes, also in Oneida, is a bit larger chain, but the individual lakes all fit your size description. If you need more specific recommendations, feel free to email me.

| Oops, I meant NW...it's a good thing I have a compass in my truck. NE isn't out of the question, but coming from central IA I'd prefer something closer. Although I do like the lake options in Oneida/Villas counties. |

Location: S.E. Wisconsin | A couple years ago I had a chance to fish the LCO tournament on the Chip Flowage, stayed at the Timberlake Lodge on Chief Lake if I remember right, it was a great place right on the water, all the people up there are top notch and I cant wait to get back. |

Location: The Yahara Chain | Lost Land and Teal lakes would be a good choice. Plenty of Lodges and the lakes are connected. 10 mph speed limit.....no jet skiers.

Location: God's Country......USA..... Western Wisconsin | Rest Point Resort on Bone Lake might be a good solution. Lots of great fishing there also a few other lakes close by that are great lakes as well.

Location: Eau Claire, WI | I suggest you contact Dave Dorazio or Ty Sennett and ask them what bodies of water for that time of year, they will offer insite to reasonable priced, decent accomodations.
Both of these guys know the waters from Stone Lake area to Hayward to the Chip. better than most and their good folks willing to help you out.
Now if you want a little comedy and laughter during your vacation I suggest you hire my buddy Dave for part of a day or a whole day, if you can't laugh around that guy...you're smile is broken. And you might even learn something about musky fishing.
