| Yes, I've used it and it is good. The difference between the 4" model and the 6" model is 2".  Seriously though, the Boggs does a nice job and is easy to use when you get the hang of it. Here's the thing to consider if you're using it for making bucktails. You can do the loop and the wraps on one end of your wire. When you get to the other end you can still do the loop but not the wraps. You will have to do those by hand. It doesn't really matter if you have the 4" or 6" version you won't be able to fit a finished bucktail in there to complete the wraps. |

The Hagens bender is top notch. Much easier to use in my opinion, and makes nicer wraps and bends. |

It say its only designed for use with .051 wire if you use the extra head attachment, and .041 without the attachment.
Have you tried it with .062 wire? |

Yep, it just requires a little Baldy Customization, and it works great with 062".
I bend all my tails with the Hagens

Location: Madison, WI | Started with the Boggs and upgraded to the Hagens. Best wire bender out there for the money. I use .051 wires and it makes perfect wraps and loops every time! I think there is another attachment available for heavier wire. I could be wrong. |

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan | The hagens is much better than the boggs IMO. The boggs was too small to make bucktails even with the extra 2". For me, i dont use any wire bender. I use .051" wire and buy it with one end pre looped. When i have the bucktail all ready i simply use pliers and loop the other end. Takes a little getting used to, but saves you the 150 bucks or so. |

What is this modification to allow the Hagen's to work with .062" stainless wire?
