Posts: 412 Location: Waukesha, WI | fishing in the stirred up water with a natural colored bait, I couldn't see the lure coming in. Tooooooo many times I cranked the Spro swivel into the eyelets. I couldn't find what Lambeau said he has used. What do you guys use to ensure you don't crank too far when you can't see the leader/lure?

Posts: 5874 | For night fishing, I will put a slip bobber stop on my line. It's put on the line before attaching a leader or swivel. Thread it on, tighten it, and snip the tag ends. You can adjust to where you want. It's silent, but easily felt when it contacts the tip. No reason to think it wouldn't work the same for dirty/dark water conditions.

Posts: 2112 Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | I got sick of hearing Lori's swivel hitting her tip, so I threaded a big bead on her lines and through again, so it does not slide up and down the line.

No offense, but I'm not sure that is a very good idea. Especially if you are running a plastic bead on there. Doubling the line seems that you would be creating a weak point at the bead since the bead has somewhat of an edge on it. IMO I use the soft beads and push them onto my knot. That keeps them in place.

Posts: 392 Location: KY | Baldy I bought a pack of the glow beads for night fishing. I was dissatisfied with the way they held a “charge”. I could not see them on the second or third cast. I was using a standard flashlight to charge them up. Are you supposed to use something special? They do make good line stops because they are rubbery. Bruce

Posts: 284 | how did you charge your glow beads bruce? If you use a camera flash or one of those super intense led lights they hold a charge for a pretty good while

Posts: 1270 | I don't have the problem with reeling to the swivel but others around me have and I came up with a simple solution. Go to an archery store and buy some slip on Eliminator Buttons. These are small rubber "doughnuts" that go on the bow string and keep the release from touching the arrow. Make sure you get the slip on ones, not the crimp on ones and just slide them over the line before you tie on your leader, then put a drop of super glue to hold it in place.

Posts: 1504 Location: Oregon | A bobber stop should do the trick.........you can easily tie one with just a piece of mono and it will last the entire season. If you can't feel it hit your guide then use a larger sized mono............ Jed V.

Posts: 44 | Find a dollar store and pick up one of those kits the girls make beaded braclets -- my daughter has one with 100's of neon and clear plastic beads -- can't beat it for a dollar.
