Anyone try out some new baits over the weekend? for me, I really liked the small Gerrys Girls..they will get rocked. The smaller curly sue sure does look good...and the small lifelike swim/crank should be a good one too... those were pretty much the new baits I had to try over the weekend...

Posts: 412 Location: Waukesha, WI | Some of the baits I didn't like I won't mention the tackle company. I will be contacting the bait maker to discuss the issues of needing to jump start tails and paint problems on the jerkbait. I really liked the jerkbait too if the finish wouldn't have gone sour. I didn't like the SlopMasters. I expected them to come back free of slop and not the wadded mess of weeds. I loved the Gerrys Girls that I picked up at the Milwaukee bait swap. I had added a few Shallow Invaders to go with my many Shallow Raiders, and they will at least get an equal share of time.

I didn't like the SlopMasters. I expected them to come back free of slop and not the wadded mess of weeds. i watched Bucher's "Slopmaster" dvd and it was very clear he is running Slopmasters _above_ the weeds, not through them. i'd always considered this bait akin to the Pearson Grinders for going through the weeds, but that's not how Bucher was fishing them; so different bait, different applications?

Posts: 2037 Location: lansing, il | I think one of the best baits I purchased this year is the Krook both in the single Indiana and the double #10 Colorado. I have not caught a fish on it yet but it is only a matter of time. That bulge is HUGE. I think Rollie and Helens got it right when they said it was one of the most unique surface baits to come out in a long time. There is little doubt that this could be the year of the Krook. Wait till fish start on topwater.
