| Going from a 24to 36 volt trolling motor system and have a Ranger 3 bank charger. I want to disconnect the cranking battery from the charger and charge all three trolling motor batteries from the stock Ranger 3 bank charger. Will need to get a single bank charger for the cranking battery. Does any one else do it this way???
Thanks

Location: Minneapolis, MN | I am about to do the exact same thing. I am planning to move the stock Ranger/CSI charnger down a couple inches and install the single bank charger on top of or above it in the same location. Will probably connect the two pig tails with a two-way adapter so I can continue to carry only one extension cord with me. Depending on how your boat was originally setup, you may need to pull a third wire through the transom to connect your three batteries to get 36v. I got lucky and don't have to do that, just add two jumpers to one of the batts. |

| Looks like I will only need to run the jumper across the new battery I install and it will be fine. I just don't want to buy another battery charger for the three trolling motor batteries.

Location: menasha wi 54952 | I pretty much did the same thing. Picked up a N.I.B. Minn Kota single bank on Ebay for $34 shipping included. Added it to charge the cranking battery. Same plug connector. One extension cord for all. Sweeeeet!!!!

| I just installed a 36v system from a 24v in my 620 and had the same dilema. I added a 4 bank charger instead. I removed the Ranger Dual Pro 3 bank, and bought a 4 bank on ebay that was reconditioned for under 200$. Works great. I was going to designate the original 3 bank to the trolling motor batteries and then get a single bank charger for the cranking battery. Then I figured if I'm going to do all the work of pulling the wires, and redoing the whole system, forget the headache of adding the single bank and just go with the 4 bank. |
