Posts: 8789 | You know -- "this hat/rod/lure/thong/smashed paper cup" has mojo... I do it. I got about a dozen hats, and three that I've caught muskies wearing. Guess which ones I always wear now? I'll even change hats on tough days sometimes. Now, I don't believe for a second that something as stupid as which hat you are wearing makes any difference in the world, but I still do it anyway, because well... It's fun! What thing or things have mojo for you? Is there a particular story behind them?

Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | I got a G-Loomis Pro Staff hat(in picture) that has some major MOJO. I got a special Ranger hat that I used in all the PMTT events and still use it in all tournaments. Also an old pair of shorts that seem to have some fish catching power. This picture was from the 2006 Opener on Pewaukee Lake. Three muskies at one time on quick-strike rigs and suckers. Posts: 227 Location: Southeast Wisconsin | Hats,visors,shirts,shoes,boxers...I unhook my boat a certain way, launch on a particular side and always make sure to get that lucky parking spot...On numerous occasions Ive even asked people if they would switch parking spots with me. On one outing last fall my shoelaces came untied 10 times within a 7 hour period. Within 1-15 minutes after retying my laces we would get a hit on a sucker. We managed 7 of the 10. The funny part about it is that the shoes werent prone to coming untied and I have never had that problem since.. Thats the short list.. I stopped calling it "mojo" a long time ago...Now its just a full blown case of OCD

Posts: 27 Location: FORT ATKINSON | Don't foget to have the net handle pointed at your boat partner. LOL I have a St Croix hat that I have cought most of my fish when I have it on,except for late fall when I have a lucky Charhart stocking cap I cought my personal best when I had it on. So if you see a guy with a stocking cap on in the middle of summer then you know why.LOL

Posts: 229 Location: Plover, WI | My biggest muskie came while wearing an old Nike shirt. I wear that as much as I can when I fish now! Its getting pretty thin in the shoulders and frayed along the neck line, oh what will I ever do when that shirt falls apart? Mike

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | My muskiefirst sweatshirt or my gray HS football sweatshirt. Both do well with fish. When out with Ben Keung we trolled most of the day with no luck. Once I got the sweatshirt on we had a fish in about 5 minutes.

I also wear a SMOKIES shirt that needs to be stretched out because my wife shrunk it in the wash.:~) There's always to many baits with me because I had action on something that should be at the bait swap. Let the season begin.......... Netman

One day you wake up and realize that every time you decide to go fishing with a certain jewish friend, the black cloud of death weather WILL show up, and the temp drops 40 degrees overnight. Don't play with the mojo.

Posts: 574 | My extremely old Mecca sweatshirt. So many holes in it, the only writing had holes surrounding it, the sleves were destroyed, a homeless guy would consider this garbage. I cut it into pieces and am going to use it as a boat rag this year.

Posts: 2024 | My OLDDDD Post 71 Legion baseball shirt. Tar, oil, blood stains. Holes, bout as thin as a dryer sheet. Pits look like the color of a school bus (sorry for the visual ). Popped two of my three biggest with that shirt. It'll be worn this weekend! Attachments ---------------- scan0001-1.jpg (47KB - 153 downloads) 131_3200.JPG (74KB - 175 downloads)

Posts: 284 | Anybody have excess mojo they wish to share. I am going on 8 seasons without a fish in the boat. I see alot they'd just rather stay in the water. This may sound like I am a terrible fisherman. Which i hope is not true, but I only get out about 5 times a year.

Posts: 357 Location: Long Prairie, Minnesota | I have an old Ranger hat that stays in the truck and only comes out when I hit the lake for Muskies. Got such good MOJO that I brought it to Iraq with me!! Had an awesome old T-shirt, but my wife couldn't stand it. It was worn so badly with holes, I would be spotted after a good day on the lake. She got ahold of it one day, and now it is gone. I think she washes the floors with it! :( She will never get the hat though!

Posts: 101 | I can only catch fish in plain colored t-shirts. Doesn't matter if I wear something over it, but if there are any logos or images on the t-shirt I won't catch a fish that day. I also have to wear a Mil. Brewers hat. It "was" white. Now it's grey/black and smells like a men's lockeroom. I also don't let my wife wash my hoodie for the season. The fabric softener scares the fish away also. ~Dawg Edited by Musky Dawg 4/21/2007 1:09 AM

Posts: 101 | ghiterman, I didn't say they were a "good team". :D Just happened to be the hat I was wearing when I caught my first one... so I kept what worked. I swear they can smell the fabric softener though. And as far as the no logo goes, I don't even get follows when I wear one! ~Dawg

Posts: 3869 | mojo - passing a lone shoe lying in the road to the landing is very bad, as is having a banana in the boat. Good mojo comes from flipping a silver coin into the lake as your motor is warming up and say "To the lady of the lake!" while it is spinning in the air. Hat stuff doesn't matter, though a Dead shirt is a plus.
