good places to start.....put a gps tracking device on Lee Tauchen, Greg Thomas and Hamernicks boats ...they seem to be on the most 50+ fish up there!

a good place to start in july/august would be the north end cabbage line and adjacent shallow sand flats...past that any of the well known reefs are great places..garrisons, andersons, you name it..if you see a walleye guy or another musky boat on it..it is good..
hire one of the better guides for a day and pick his brain..the money you and your partner spend would be well worth it if you plan on fishing the lake often...

Any of the structure marked on a lake map is a good place to start. The rock reefs, sand, cabbage, rocks and cabbage transitions......knock yourself out. All of it is good structure and will hold fish.

basic layout of Mille Lacs...
North is sand with some weedlines
South is made up of a couple weedy bays (Cove, Whakon, etc..)
East side of the lake has the most rock piles
West side of the lake has miles and miles of weedlines

Each side of lake produces fish, and don't be affraid to go exploring.. Believe it or not, there are still weedbeds on the lake that do not get hit and do hold fish
