Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Hey everyone, I had started this blank a couple of months ago. I wasn't sure if I would ever finish it. I had some people ask me lately if I made any carp style gliders. I figured I would finish it this weekend. It has a copper foil base below. Slow sinking. I am glad I decided to finish it. Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Thanks everyone, I wound up using another blank that I had and did a spin-off of a carp. I guess I will call it a "silver carp" LOL Take care John Attachments ---------------- DSC03110silvercarp.jpg (31KB - 108 downloads)

Posts: 55 Location: SW Michigan | Unbelievably realistic color & details. Inspirational. I've been working on a couple carp gliders, also. In comparison, mine look like they were roughed out with an axe & finished with a chain saw. Been thinking about having my 8 year old paint mine for me so they'll look better. Great work.

Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Thanks everybody, I think all baits look good. It doesn't matter who makes them!. Most of the fun is just creating them. Sometimes I wonder if the fish really care what finish is on the wood. LOL I have heard of fish eating raw 2x4 's with hooks on them! LOL The natural carp has already been spoken for. The silver one I think I will sell also. I will think about it while cutting the grass tonight. The depth of finish it just created by layering the epoxy with many coats. Looks nice but alot of work and wet sanding. More layers more depth. Take care John Edited by Tigger 4/2/2007 4:28 PM
