Subject: WRMA.....?

Just wondering who, if any, the WRMA recognises as the world record holder. Is there any thing going on to find WHO may be the undisputed record holder....? Haven't seen or heard anything since the Spray deal.....

a good place to start for information on the WMRA would be the WRMA website:
http://www.worldrecordmuskiealliance.com/

notably, the WRMA does not view itself as a record-keeping body, just a group that is interested in ensuring that muskie records maintained by other groups are accurate and substantiated.

from their website:
The W.R.M.A. is a non-profit group founded and dedicated to ensuring all current
and future Muskie records are genuine. The W.R.M.A. will employ qualified
impartial resources to identify, analyze and verify all available evidence to help record
keeping agencies determine eligibility of records.

from their mission statement:
If our conclusions give rise to evidence different than the accepted current records,
these will be submitted to the IGFA and/or NFWFHF for their review and
consideration in modifying the records...

the new record keeping body established in the last year is the Modern Day Muskellunge Record Program.
although loosely associated with the WMRA and a byproduct of their efforts to convince the FWFHoF to disqualify the Spray record, they are not the same organization.

as far as i know, they have not yet verified a new/modern day world record fish. the minimum to enter is 60lbs.

more information on that group is available in press release articles here on MuskieFirst:

Announcement:

Rules:
http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/articles/03.23.2007/1072/Internatio...

you can also contact Larry Ramsell directly, he is heading the new program.

It's fine. In the next few years that record will fall and then debate will be over

The big question is, which lake will the next World Record come from. My top picks: Trout Lake, Fence, Round, Georgian Bay, Wissota. Anybody else have ideas on this?
