how long will it be until illinois lakes that have been recently stocked will have good fish?? they have been stocking alot of lakes and im just wondering.

They already do, pushing upper 40s and some getting into the low 50s. The next four or five years should be great!

Do Illinois lakes get stocked in the spring or in the fall. We just had a meeting with our DNR in Iowa to get an increase in stocking efforts and conversations came up that surrounding states stocked fish in the fall unlike us who stock in the spring (the DNR was trying to make a survival rate argument. I thought that everyone had transitioned to a spring stocking program. Does anyone know when the states around IA stock their fish and the size of those fish being stocked. Thanks for the help.

We stock fingerlings (10-14") in the fall here in Madison, WI.
