I have read your articles and book about grinding spinnerbaits in the cabbage beds. I have done the traditional, work the spinnerbait over the tops of the weeds with some success. But your ideas on getting the bait down into the weeds has me excited to try them this year.
I noticed that you recommend using Rad Dogs spinnerbaits, and the M.I. President Perry Smith is also a fan of the bait. So I bought a couple at the expo. Haveing looked it over when I got them home I got to wondering why these baits are more weedless than other brands of spinnerbaits on the market? Now I want to explain that I'm NOT bashing Rad Dogs at all. I'm trying to understand what is different in construction or function that makes them come through the cabbage better than other types of spinnerbaits, such as an M/G or a Marv's. Is the difference in the head shape, or skirt material, or blade, or is it a combination of things?
I hope that you can shed some light on this for me. Thanks. |
